Solution:
Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi logs from the folder C:\Windows\Inf and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log"

I received the error (0x800f0826) when attempting to install SP1 both via Windows update today. It downloads fine and installs but fails and reverts back during the reboot. This is Windows 7 Home Premium x32 .I've run the System Update Readiness Tool with no effect. There are no hidden updates in Control Panel, the only Failed update is SP1.
Solution :
Let's try the following:
1. ClickStart type cmd (you should see the command prompt populate at the top) Right-click it and selectRun as Administrator
Inside the prompt type sfc /scannow
*Info on the System File Checker
2. Click:Reset Windows Update Componentsand run the FixIt? in both default and aggressive modes.
3. Download / Install / Run the System Update Readiness Tool

Restart your PC and press F8 during the startup. When you get options chose Safe Mode.
Click Start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click Device Manager.
In the list of hardware categories, expand the Display adapters category.
Right click on your display adapter and click Disable.
Restart the PC normally. See if you can now get to your desktop. If that works you are working with a video issue. If not there are other steps you can try.
